Job Description:

The GIS Manager provides consulting and leads the network development team to complete projects. Primary duties include preparation of GIS products and data layers, spatial data conversions and editing, cartographic design, map and figure generation, and limited spatial analysis.

The ideal candidate will actively contribute in project-specific GIS work. Must work competently and independently on several phases of GIS development and implementation, including customer meetings.

Must fully comprehend GIS fundamentals and spatial data, understand map projections, data acquisition and compilation, and exhibit ability to perform effectively in a multi-faceted working environment.

A demonstrated ability to use GIS in a number of research areas and applications is preferable. Experience using Mapinfo software is essential in addition to experience using Microsoft Access and SQL.

Applicants with educational foundation and/or experience to qualify them to start in GIS application development and implementation are welcome to apply. This position is not a programming role.

Required Skills:

• University degree in geography, planning, engineering or computer science
• Knowledge of MapInfo products 
• Knowledge of GIS fundamentals, data acquisition and compilation
• Utilize MapBasic software to create automated map production scripts
• Proficiency in creating Macros in MS Office applications
• 2 years experience in related field a must
• Working experience in international company a plus
• Good communication skills (Chinese, English a must - other languages preferable)
